DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 300 AM GMT (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Fay was

located near latitude 29.8 North, longitude 40.0 West. Fay is moving

toward the west-southwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). A generally 

westward motion with some decrease in forward speed is expected 

over the next few days.

 

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 40 mph (65 km/h) 

with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the 

next day or two, with gradual weakening expected thereafter.

 

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 70 miles (110 km)

from the center.

 

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1010 mb (29.83 inches).
