CHANGES WITH THIS ADVISORY -------------------------- None. WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- A Typhoon Warning remains in effect for Pagan and Agrihan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. A Typhoon Warning means that typhoon force winds of 74 mph or more are imminent or occurring. A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Alamagan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm force winds of 39 to 73 mph are imminent or occurring. A Typhoon Watch remains in effect for Alamagan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. A Typhoon Watch means that typhoon force winds of 74 mph or more are possible if the track of Typhoon Saudel shifts sufficiently westward. SUMMARY OF 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------- Location...17.5N 146.9E About 70 miles east of Alamagan About 85 miles east-southeast of Pagan About 115 miles northeast of Anatahan About 120 miles southeast of Agrihan About 180 miles north-northeast of Saipan About 195 miles north-northeast of Tinian About 255 miles north-northeast of Rota About 310 miles north-northeast of Guam Maximum sustained winds...90 mph Present movement...northwest...325 degrees at 15 mph DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...the center of Typhoon Saudel was located near Latitude 17.5 degrees North and Longitude 146.9 degrees East. Saudel is moving northwest at 15 mph. It is expected to maintain this general course and speed through Sunday. This general forecast track will take Typhoon Saudel close to Agrihan this evening. Maximum sustained winds have increased to 90 mph. Saudel is forecast to intensify through Sunday. Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 35 miles to the east with little or no winds to the west. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 150 miles.
