DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 100 AM CHST...1500 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression Surigae

was located near Latitude 16.7 degrees North and Longitude 137.0

degrees East. Surigae is moving northwest at 10 mph. It will make a

slight turn toward the west-northwest with a slight increase in

forward speed through Friday. This general forecast track would take

Surigae fairly close to Okinawa early next week.



Maximum sustained winds have increased to 35 mph. Surigae is

forecast to intensify through tonight possibly becoming a

tropical storm.
