DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...the center of Typhoon Champi was

located near Latitude 14.1 degrees North and Longitude

139.7 degrees East. Champi is moving west-northwest at 14 mph. It

is expected to maintain this general course and speed through

Tuesday.



Maximum sustained winds remain at 140 mph. Champi is forecast to

intensify through tonight, potentially becoming a super typhoon

once more later this afternoon.



Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to

60 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the

center up to 175 miles.
