WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- A Tropical Storm Watch is now in effect for Alamagan, Pagan and Agrihan islands in the CNMI. A Tropical Storm Watch means that tropical storm conditions, including winds of 39 to 73 mph, are possible within 48 hours. Residents of Saipan and Tinian should carefully monitor the progress of Tropical Depression 26W. It is expected to make a slight turn toward the west-northwest with a slight increase in forward speed through Thursday. The latest forecast track suggests an intensifying 26W will pass through the Marianas north of Anatahan on Friday. Maximum sustained winds are 30 mph. 26W is forecast to intensify through tonight, possibly becoming a tropical storm Thursday morning.
