The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Atchison County in northwestern Missouri...

* Until 545 PM CDT.

* At 426 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Auburn,
  moving northeast at 55 mph.

  THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR ATCHISON COUNTY.

  HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail.

  SOURCE...Automated weather station.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without 
           shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect 
           considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. 
           Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Tarkio, Rock Port, Fairfax, Blanchard, Westboro, Watson, Indian
  Cave State Park, and Phelps City.

This includes Interstate 29 between mile markers 99 and 123.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for northwestern
Missouri.
