SUMMARY...A broken cluster of severe thunderstorms will move

southeast into the Watch area this evening. A few of the stronger

thunderstorms will be supercells capable mainly of a wind damage

threat, but isolated large hail and perhaps a tornado are possible

with these storms through the early evening. As storm outflow

coalesces later this evening and this activity pushes southeast, the

severe risk will transition to primarily damaging gusts.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles either side of a line from 15 miles southwest of

Anderson SC to 20 miles southeast of Rocky Mount NC. For a complete

depiction of the watch see the associated watch outline update

(WOUS64 KWNS WOU0).

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
